One of the greatest trends I have seen in business owners and leaders since this Pandemic / Isolation began is ennui and de-motivation to do the work they know they need to, to keep their business thriving. While this has been easing over the last two weeks, I wanted to share with you what we have done to successfully keep going during the isolation period. 1. Stay focused on your own values and ideals. When you have a list of who you are and who you choose to be in the world, it will inevitably include caring about other people. We tend to forget that in the stress of coping with our own lives. When you are in leadership, you don't really have that luxury. If you don't have a personal values list, write one. No one has to see it, it is simply your own reminder. 2. Stay present to the impact your business makes in the world. You wouldn't be in business if you weren't bringing value to the world. Because you do bring value, the world needs you to continue. You may be feeling out of sorts, lackadaisical and otherwise uninspired. However, for every moment you aren't putting forth your full force and effort, there is someone not getting served by what you do. Never underestimate your own value. someone needs you today. These two things have made a difference in all my clients and they are tending to thrive even though they are stuck at home, inside, with little socialization. Best regards, Michael D. Goodman
